On March 18th, the CDBC awarded $3,000 in prizes to Metropolitan State University students for their winning bean recipes. The winners were chosen by Greg Bloom and Tony Hardwick of Barber's Foods. The awards were presented by Chef Jackson Lamb, director of MSU's School of Hospitality and Tony Hardwick, Barber's Foods manager.
This was our second contest for MSU students. We received over 40 entries. There were prizes awarded for five market classes of beans: pinto, yellow/Mayocoba, black, garbanzo and black-eyed peas.
