The Colorado Dry Bean Council and Barbers Foods want to extend the 5 mini-contests before the start of the semester, with each winning recipient receiving $300. (Because of end-of-semester craziness not too many recipes were submitted) We have set the due date for February 15, 2021 and will announce winners just before Spring break. The 5 categories are:
International Rice and Beans Contest; Seeking recipes from any culture or cuisine. Israeli, Lebanese, Moroccan, Colombian, Mexican, Asian, African, Cuban, Italian and anything else.
Black Bean Contest; Seeking recipes of black bean burgers, meatballs and meatloaf and anything else.
Garbanzo Bean Contest; Seeking recipes of hummus, falafel and roasted garbanzos and anything else.
Kidney Bean Contest; Seeking recipes of chili, meatloaf, 3-Bean Salad and anything else.
Black-Eyed Peas Contest; Looking to gather recipes prior to New Year’s Eve.
To enter, submit your recipe using dry beans in a power point format, listing ingredients, portions and procedures. Photograph your work. Since you will not be able to make a presentation, let the power point speak for you. Upload your entry to https://www.barbersfoods.com/pages/bean-recipe-contest , and submit under the contest tab.
To enter the contest, send your Powerpoint presentation to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 15, 2021.
